Drew Peterson, husband of Stacy Peterson (who has been missing since October 28, 2007), has opened his doors to the media in preparation for his arrest. Peterson allegedly wants to portray his human side to the public that includes his "future jury pool," he told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview in his home. Peterson has even arranged for relatives to care for his children in the event that he is arrested.
Meanwhile an undisclosed location is now the focus of a search for the body of Peterson's wife, Stacy, according to news anchor and former prosecutor, Nancy Grace, of CNN's Headline News.
Grace said that police, searching for clues, are now saying Stacy`s disappearance is a potential homicide. On her program that aired on April 2, 2008, the anchor reported that searchers are now "looking at gravesites," shifting the focus from a search for the missing woman to a search for a body, and lending more credence to the probability of the arrest of Peterson.
Grace asked Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky why officials haven’t disclosed the new search location to Stacy’s husband, but all Brodsky will say is that he "would think they would," but that police were not disclosing the information to them.
With the search for Stacy heating up, the onetime respected Bolingbrook, Illinois Police Sergeant, now the prime suspect in his young wife’s disappearance, is trying to save face and possibly his life by using the media to show that he is just a family man. He says he shops, cooks, cleans house, and tends to his children.
However, things do not look good for Peterson, who after serving for nearly three decades with the Bolingbrook Police Department, has contact with no one there. Drew says there isn’t anyone there [at the police department] whom he would call a friend.
Peterson is shunned also by his wife’s family and friends, adding to his problems with the media, whom he says has been portraying him as sinister. Despite the fact that he refuses to assist searchers in looking for his wife, Drew Peterson says he is not the monster that the media is portraying him as.
Since Stacy first went missing, Peterson says the media has camped out in front of his house, portrayed him as a monster, and all but convicted him. Although he admits that people may find his behavior peculiar, he denies that he’s the sinister person that he’s being painted as, and continues to profess his innocence in his wife’s disappearance.
His theory is simple; that she met someone else and took off with him. Peterson believes it is pointless to look for Stacy in fields, forests, and other places when she is not there, but is where she wants to be.
However, according to Stacy's friend and spokeswoman for her family, Pam Bosco, Drew is a chameleon who changes his demeanor to fit situations. She reacted somberly to the results of the second autopsy on the body of Peterson’s third wife, Kathleen Savio, which concluded that her death was a homicide. Bosco told NBC News. “We realize that Kathleen and Stacy had one common denominator, and that was Drew Peterson."
Will Drew Peterson be cleared of the murder of his third wife, and any wrongdoing in the disappearance of his fourth wife?
