Confirmation of Caylee Anthony's DNA in TrunkDecomposing Hair in Casey’s Trunk is Caylee's
Thursday, FBI DNA results confirmed that the decaying hair found in Casey Anthony's car was Caylee's, prompting an offer of a limited immunity deal to the young mother
Several weeks ago, authorities discovered Caylee Anthony’s DNA, yet where it was found was not released. This all changed on Thursday, as WKMG in Orlando is now reporting that the hair strands found in Casey’s trunk are that of Caylee and the strands showed signs of decay. This new evidence indicates that Caylee is most likely deceased. Family in DenialDespite this scientific evidence, the Anthony family spokesman, Larry Garrison released a statement for the media, indicating, “Reports surrounding the DNA of Caylee Anthony are being disputed by the family and their attorney.” Included in the statement was that no immunity deal was being discussed, and the family had never been informed of the air sample tests being conducted at the University of Tennessee. The air sample test results were released Wednesday indicating there was evidence that human decomposition had occurred in Casey’s car. A press conference was held on Thursday in which Captain Angelo L. Nieves of the Orange County Sheriff's Office was very evasive when he was questioned about the DNA test results. Nieves seemed to suggest that the results were still being evaluated and were in the preliminary stages. Bounty Hunter Considers Revoking Casey’s Bond in Light of New RevelationsLeonard Padilla, the bounty hunter whose nephew posted the bond for Casey’s release, has publicly stated he will take steps to revoke the bond to see Casey goes back to jail. Not only do he and his nephew regret their decision to bail Casey out in light of the new revelations, but also Padilla now claims Casey’s safety is at stake. WFTV reports that Padilla indicated serious threats had been made against Casey after Wednesday and Thursday’s release of new evidence. Padilla described threatening phone calls to the Anthony home, such as one in which the caller yelled, “Kill the b****. Burn the b****. Fry the b****.” Padilla claims he still believes that if Caylee is dead, it happened accidentally. Yet he continues to admit, “I was wrong. The people were right that said I should have left her (Casey) in there.” Casey’s Limited Immunity DealIt was reported on Tuesday that authorities had offered Casey a limited immunity deal in return for information regarding the whereabouts of Caylee, dead or alive. Original reports indicated Casey had only 24 hours to respond when the offer was made, however, it appears authorities have extended the deadline for a response until Tuesday, September 2. According to legal experts, this limited immunity deal would not relieve Casey of all consequences for any action she took which led to Caylee’s disappearance. Instead the deal would probably result in a lighter sentence if she were found guilty of harming Caylee or a chance to escape the death penalty it was determined Casey had killed her daughter.
